Product Review: Julie’s Gluten Free Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich Cookie
I love the Holidays! My family has so many parties and Christmas traditions that there is no shortage of great food to try. I tried Julie’s Gluten Free Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich Cookie at my niece’s birthday party where it was offered as “something special for the gluten free eaters”. I know, that has nothing to do with the actual product, it was just so thoughtful I had to share!
In any case, this was the first ice cream sandwich I had eaten since going gluten free. I miss these frosty treats and am so glad that I can add them back to my menu. These are gluten free and organic as well.
Ease of Use
These gluten free ice cream sandwiches come in a handy canister pack that is small and strong - very storage friendly. Inside, the sandwiches are individually wrapped and easy to grab and eat anytime.
Appearance
The gluten free cookies used in these sandwiches look like large Oreos. They are round and textured. They are very pretty :) There is a thick layer of vanilla ice cream between two cookies.
Taste and Texture
The cookies are slightly crispy, yet soft enough not to crunch. They are not the soft type of cookie that I usually associate with ice cream sandwiches. The ice cream is smooth, rich and creamy.
The texture and flavor combined remind me of cookies and cream ice cream, just in a convenient hand-held package. It was absolutely delicious! The portion size was just big enough to satisfy.
Versatility
I’m sure you could come up with some creative uses for these, but I am happy with them just the way they are.
Overall Value
The price is a bit daunting at $5.75 for a box of four sandwiches. I have added these to my “sometime indulgences” list.
Rating
I loved this product. I will definitely be eating them again.
