I have made this for years. This recipe feeds a lot of people too. I had never cooked with fresh cranberries before. The fun part of making these are when the cranberries are popping as they cook. Make this one with your kids. They will love it. It is also a very quick and simple recipe. You will get raves on this one.
| Prep time | 5 minutes |
| Cooking time | 45 minutes |
| Servings | 12-14 people |
Ingredients
2 packages (12 ounces each) fresh cranberries
2 quarts water
1 can (21 ounces) apple pie filling
2 cans (15 1/4 ounces each) sliced pears, drained
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
In a large saucepan, cook cranberries and water over medium-high heat until berries pop, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat until mixture boils. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cold. Yield: 12-14 servings.

Sounds like a great recipe I would like to try. Where do you find gluten free apple pie filling?

There is a link on my profile to a store called Lingonberries. You can try calling them to see if they have it there. It is a local store here in the Northwest.
