this is a recipe that I use for most family gatherings. Holidays included. You can easily alter it to taste, Sometimes we use more garlic sometimes I am out and we have them plain!
| Prep time | 10 minutes |
| Cooking time | 20 mins |
| Servings | 5-8 |
Ingredients
5Lbs Potatoes (has worked with all types of potatoes I have tried with minimal changes)
pinch salt
4 6 Tbsp butter
1 2 C Milk
1 1/2C sour cream or plain yogurt
1/4C Mayonnaise or plain yogurt
1 1/2 Tbsp Crushed jarred garlic Plus juice
salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
peel most of the skins off potatoes and rinse
put on the stove in your stock pot cover with water, add salt
Boil until soft. Drain and put back in your pot. Add butter and 1C milk, You can use your potato masher (or I use my mixer- and since I don’t over mix and the potatoes are soft it doesn’t seem to make it gluey.)
Add remaining ingredients except remainder of the milk- mix together- if it is still too stiff add some milk- sometimes it doesn’t need any more and sometimes it needs all of it! Salt and pepper it to taste and enjoy with your favourite gravy!
