WIne & Shallot Sauce Dijon safe

This is a very simple and good recipe

This sauce would be great over your steak, or chicken.

Servings 2 1/2 Cups

Ingredients

1 tablespoon butter
3 4 Shallots, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2/3 cup dry red wine or white wine.
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can beef or chicken broth
1 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter or margarine, saute shallots for 3 minutes over medium-high heat.
2. Stir cornstarch into wine; add to pan with the broth. Mustard to taste, chives and pepper.
3. Cook and stir until mixture thickens
4. Taste for seasoning.
5. Serve over burgers,steak,or fish.
